This puts its domestic total at $812,011,043 which moved it ahead of Avatars previous All-Time domestic gross of $760,507,625. Internationally it opened in China on Saturday taking in a impressive estimated $53,000,000. Star Wars: The Force Awakens worldwide is still far away from Avatars worldwide record of $2,787,965,087 with only $1,733,411,043 which still puts Star Wars just over $1 billion dollars away.

The Revenant PosterComing in second place this week was The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Hugh Glass a frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s  on a quest for survival after being brutally mauled by a bear. While it opened in limited release on December 24th. It has a wide release this weekend bringing in a estimated $38,000,000 for the weekend and $38,236,553 for the week. While it was unable to push Star Wars: The Force Awakens from the #1 spot this week it is still impressive since it is Rated R.

Daddys-Home-Aus-PosterComing in third place this weekend was the Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg comedy Daddy’s Home. With its second full week of release it pulled in a total of $22,523,715. $15.1 Million of that was from the weekend. This brings its grand total up to $116,313,576 domestically and $154,213,576 worldwide.
